[The RPG Place]

Site FAQ

Okay, first things first, you are always welcome to drop me a line through the Feedback Page and I will reply to it as soon as I can. But I thought I would put this page together anyway so maybe you'll be able to find your answers without having to wait for me to check my email.

Q. Do you have news articles?
A. No.

Q. Why not?
A. Because I don't have time to keep up my grades at a demanding university, work a part-time job, continue to update the site's content, have a social life, and search the Web for news articles.

Q. Does your site cover [insert game name here]?
A. If you do not see the game listed on the Games Page, then the answer is no. However, you can certainly email me and I can try to answer your question.

Q. What information do you provide for each game?
A. Since no two RPGs are identical, the information I provide varies accordingly. However, I'll list some information you can expect to find for every RPG covered here:

  • Character Guides
  • Bestiary
  • Boss Guide
  • Weapon, armour, accessory, item, etc. guides
  • Walkthroughs
  • Reviews
  • Fanfiction
  • Coverage of the magic or "nifty ability" system

Please note that all of the aforementioned items are contingent on someone having written them. So if I haven't gotten to it, and none of my contributors have, it's just not up yet. I'm sorry, but I'm only one woman, and I've not yet mastered the art of existing on no sleep.

Q. Can I be staff?
A. Bluntly put? Not until you demonstrate a good reason why you should be. To do that, you need to become a contributor and meet the requirements on the Contributor Standards page.

Q. Where are the screenshots?
A. I don't have any. I have neither the bandwidth nor the disk space for them. And most importantly, I don't have the game companies' permission to use them. If you're looking for screenshots, try a big site like IGN or RPGamer.

Q. A/S/L?
A. Old enough/No/Far away from you.

Q. How can I burn games?
A. Throw them into a bonfire. Don't come around here looking for instructions on cheating game companies. I refuse to undercut the industry that gives me so much enjoyment.

Q. Why don't you have any Game Shark codes?
A. Because cheats are for losers, and for that reason I do not own a Game Shark.

Q. You have a lot of information for [insert game here] but no walkthrough. Why?
A. Because walkthroughs take me a good 80-200 hours of my personal time depending on the length of the game. I don't have that kind of time every day, you know. Something like a weapon guide might take me 2-3 hours at most. You see the disparity.

More to follow later, as I find more silly questions in my inbox.--Rina
