Tidus

Tidus is the star player of the Zanarkand Abes blitzball team. He unexpectedly finds himself in Spira and must rapidly acclimate to the very different world that he is suddenly a part of. Brash and possessed of a rather serious disrespect for authority, he is nevertheless a fairly good guy at heart.

Tidus excels at hitting the most agile of your opponents. As he levels up, he will also be able to take on flying enemies. He has the second-highest speed in the party (after Rikku.) The majority of the skills in his section of the Sphere Grid are speed-related--Quick Hit, Delay Buster, Haste/Hastega, and Slow/Slowga all affect either your party's speed or the enemy's speed. After learning everything in his section of the Sphere Grid, he can move on to Yuna's section, picking up some more White Magic (although his Magic stat is much lower than hers, making him a rather weak healer.)

Tidus's Overdrive: Swordplay

Tidus learns more Overdrive skills as he uses his Overdrive, so it's worthwhile to use up his Overdrive meter when you can. The chart below lists his Overdrives, how many enemies each one targets, and how many Overdrives you must perform (successfully) to learn it. (Performing a "successful" overdrive requires that you press the button at the appropriate time to power-up his Overdrive attack.)
