Vivi is an astonishingly klutzy, but very powerful, black mage. He wants to know more about who he is and where he comes from. Because his HP and physical stats are very low, you should keep him in the back row and just use his magic. His Focus command increases his magic power, so it's worth taking two or three turns at the start of a boss battle just to use that. His magic will pack a much bigger punch if you do.

Trance: Double Black
Vivi's Trance allows you to cast two Black Magic spells per turn. They still cost the same amount of MP, but you can dish out more damage more quickly, which is an advantage in boss battles.
