Skill Abilities Guide

This guide covers the Skill Abilities in Final Fantasy X, which fall under the "Skill" menu heading in battle. It includes the name of each skill, the MP cost to use it, the effect of the skill, and which section of the Sphere Grid it is found in.

Skill Abilities
Ability	MP Cost	Effect	Sphere Grid*
Armor Break	12	Reduces target's Defense. If the enemy is armoured, it breaks the armour, making non-piercing weapons do normal damage.	Auron
Dark Attack	5	If it succeeds, it inflicts Darkness on the target for three turns.	Wakka
Dark Buster	10	Inflicts Darkness on the target for one turn. Unless the enemy has an immunity, this is almost a guaranteed success.	Wakka
Delay Attack	8	Delays the target's next turn a bit	Wakka
Delay Buster	18	Delays the target's next turn by a lot	Wakka
Magic Break	8	Reduces target's Magic, weakening its magic attacks	Auron
Mental Break	12	Lowers target's Magic Defense, making it more vulnerable to magic attacks.	Auron
Mug	10	Steal items from the target and simultaneously inflict a physical attack	Rikku
Power Break	8	Reduces target's Strength, making its physical attacks weaker	Auron
Quick Hit	12	Strike a target with reduced recovery time, i.e. perform a regular attack, but the character's next turn will come up much more quickly.	Tidus
Silence Attack	5	If it succeeds, it inflicts Silence on the target for three turns.	Wakka
Silence Buster	10	Inflicts Silence on the target for one turn. Unless the enemy has an immunity, this is almost a guaranteed success.	Wakka
Sleep Attack	5	If it succeeds, it inflicts Sleep on the target for three turns or until target is hit with a physical attack.	Wakka
Sleep Buster	10	Inflicts Sleep on the target for one turn (or until it is physically attacked). Unless the enemy has an immunity, this is almost a guaranteed success.	Wakka
Triple Foul	24	If the attack succeeds, the target has Sleep, Darkness, and Silence inflicted on it for three turns.	Wakka
Zombie Attack	10	Inflicts Zombie status on the target	Auron

*"Sphere Grid" refers to sections of the Sphere Grid. Each character starts in one particular section. So if the Sphere Grid column says "Rikku," you can expect to find the ability in the part of the Sphere Grid where Rikku starts.
